Les vols et les attentats de 1981 à la gendarmerie

Les vieux dossiers se réchauffent-ils?

Des dossiers touchant à la gendarmerie seront-ils remis à l'instruction? Espoir...

Un bruit invérifiable (et démenti) circulait hier dans les couloirs du palais de Justice de Bruxelles: de nouveaux éléments justifieraient la remise à l'instruction de l'attentat commis en octobre 1981 chez le major de gendarmerie Herman Vernaillen et, peut-être, la remise à l'instruction de trois autres dossiers touchant à la gendarmerie.

Au cours de l'été 1981, alors que s'amplifiait l'instruction judiciaire sur «l'affaire François» (du nom du commandant du Bureau national des drogues), la gendarmerie constata le vol de divers objets dont une radio multicanaux Get équipant une voiture du groupe antiterrorisme Diane. L'incident passa quasiment inaperçu. Au début du mois d'octobre suivant, une Peugeot 404 de la BSR de Bruxelles fut endommagée par la demi-explosion d'un engin déposé dans le coffre. Le juge d'instruction M. Bellemans et ses enquêteurs retrouvèrent celui qui avait fabriqué la radiocommande du détonateur: un jeune Américain, Jean-François Buslik, intime de l'ancien gendarme Madani Bouhouche. Buslik, arrêté, donna l'identié (fausse) du client pour lequel il disait avoir bricolé un système d'ouverture de porte.

Un mois plus tard on découvrait, à la suite de l'attentat dont furent victimes chez eux, à Hekelgem, le major Vernaillen et son épouse, deux indices reliant ces affaires. Dans la voiture qui servit à l'attentat (une Mazda appartenant au «journaliste» arabo-syrien Faez al Ajjaz, un nom qu'on retrouvera en 1983 dans le dossier du WNP), les enquêteurs découvrirent un rouleau d'autocollant entamé qui avait servi à fixer la bombe dans le coffre de la Peugeot de la BSR. En outre, une cavité pratiquée dans le tableau de bord correspondait au gabarit du poste de radio Get volé l'été précédent.

Enfin, au cours de la nuit du nouvel an 1981-1982, des initiés subtilisèrent dans les locaux du groupe Diane des armes sophistiquées, ainsi que du matériel (torches, gyrophares etc).

En 1981, ces vols et attentats s'inscrivaient logiquement en marge des enquêtes sur les trafics de stupéfiants mis à charge du BND et de l'administration de l'information criminelle (BIC).

Il fallut attendre 1986, avec l'assassinat de l'ingénieur Mendez puis les arrestations des anciens gendarmes Bouhouche (1986), Beijer (1987) et Amaury (1988), pour voir resurgir certaines armes volées au groupe Diane: une mitraillette allemande HK chez Mendez, des traces de riot-guns chez Bouhouche, et d'autres armes déterrées en janvier 1988 sous le viaduc de Vilvorde, ou découvertes dans le coffre d'une Renault 25 planquée à Woluwe-Saint-Etienne dans un des garages du «réseau» découvert grâce à l'ordinateur de Beijer.

Ces dossiers avaient longtemps dormi à l'instruction, à l'exception du dossier de l'attaque contre le major Vernaillen, rapidement clôturé par un non-lieu à la demande de l'officier qui, sans cela, n'aurait pas pu être indemnisé.

Passé du cabinet Schlicker au cabinet Hennart, le dossier Mendez prit de l'ampleur en 1988. Le juge se fit transmettre pour information plusieurs dossiers qui présentaient des similitudes, notamment ceux des vols et attentats de 1981 à la gendarmerie.

L'année dernière, la commission parlementaire d'enquête sur le banditisme et le terrorisme se fit remettre le «dossier Vernaillen». Actuellement, plus aucune de ces affaires n'est à l'instruction, la dernière (le dossier de l'explosion dans la Peugeot de la BSR) étant passée du cabinet Bellemans au cabinet de Mme Calewaert, puis sans doute retransmise au parquet de Bruxelles, faute d'éléments neufs.

Il semble pourtant que des personnes, entendues dans le cadre d'autres instructions en cours, ont récemment été aussi interrogées sur ces vieilles affaires, d'où la rumeur selon laquelle le parquet envisagerait de les remettre à l'instruction. On dément au parquet, en précisant qu'aucun juge n'a été requis à cet effet.

Une «rumeur» parce que l'information serait seulement prématurée? Dans ce cas, ce serait tant mieux. Car l'impression prévaut chez nombre d'enquêteurs que tout se tient et que les chances d'arriver à élucider un jour les dossiers des années 80 augmenteront si l'on regroupe et si l'on réactive les affaires.

Un problème sur lequel «planche» actuellement la chambre des mises en accusation de Gand, après le refus de Termonde de se dessaisir au profit de Charleroi des dossiers de Tamise (1983) et d'Alost (1985), appartenant incontestablement à la série des tueries du Brabant.

Vickers has signed a 10-years agreement with Beherman-Demoen of Belgium to develop and produce the Belgian group's BDX amphibious armoured personnel carrier.

The initiative for the agreement was taken by Lord Stokes. Mr Gerald Baxall, chief executive of Vickers Military and Hydraulics Divisions, welcomed the deal as part of a scheme to develop arange of military vehicles. For its part, the Belgian company said it now had access to Vickers' expertise in marketing and its large resources, according to Mr Joseph Beherman, president and chief executive of the Ragheno Beherman Auto Transports Group.

The Mark ll version will be manufactured at Vickers' military vehicles plant at Newcastle.

It seems likely that the Belgian army's order for 2,500 jeeps will go to Mercedes.

Mr F Vreven, Minister of Defecnce, is expected to reach a final decision on whether to buy Mercedes jeeps or Land Rovers by the end of this week.

The Mercedes 230 G jeep has won the support both of the Minstry of Defence advisers and of a government panel. If the Minster abides by the experts' advice the Van Hool firm will carry out assembly work.

It would appear that Beherman-Demoen's tender to supply the army with landrovers has little chance of being accepted.

Among the firms which would benefit from the Mercedes contract are Uniroyal, Seyntex, Tudor en Lippens and, of course, Van Hool. Among those which would benefit from the compensation agreement should Land Rover still win the contract are Bekaert, Sidmar, Sidal, Monroe, Michelin, Glaverbel, part of Asahi, and Precimental.

At the beginning of last week a Belgian court prohibited advertisements praising the Mercedes jeep as the ideal vehicle for the army. At the end of the week, however, an Antwerp court placed a similar prohibition on advertisements for the Land Rover.

Mr Joseph Beherman, director general of Ragheno-Beherman, Autotransport (BAT), claimed that only interference with the dossier and a conspiracy mounted against his firm were responsible for the fact that Belgian military experts had declared the Landrover 88 jeep to be markedly inferior to its Mercedes counterpart.

The Belgian government has once more asked for an extension of the tender period, this time until the beginning of April.

A further complicating factor in the seemingly interminable affair of the contract for 2,500 jeeps for the Belgian Armed Forces is the manner in which compensatory orders will be divided between the Dutch-speaking and French-speaking parts of the country. No solid agreement on that point has as yet been reached.

THE AGREEMENT between President Nimeiri and Mr Adnan Kashoggi confers on the joint-venture National Oil Company of Sudan (Nocs) an extremely wide range of rights. It is to undertake all work connected with oil exploration, development, construction, refineries and harbour installations, a special correspondent writes.

The clause of the agreement which is understood to give Chevron most cause for concern entitles Nocs to acquire all rights, title, concessions, leases, and royalties of the Sudan Government in respect of any aspect of the petroleum industry.

Over the last decade, as the insurance business has become more and more international, Lloyd's has grown dramatically. However, the broadening of the reinsurance business - the practice by which insurers, such as the Lloyd's syndicates, spread portions of their risk among other insurers - has increased the scope for fraudulent operators such as Mr. Dixon, analysts say.

In the scandals that emerged in 1982, the underwriters representing syndicates were reinsuring with offshore companies in which they had hidden interests. In the PCW case, the reinsurance premiums funneled to such companies by PCW were then diverted to private interests.

Some of the 1,500 names reported to be members of the PCW syndicate, which is now under new management, are believed to include the Duchess of Kent and Adnan Kashoggi, the Middle Eastern entrepreneur. The disciplinary action against Mr. Dixon and his five associates, however, is not likely to be the last word in the case, which has also been investigated by the City of London police and the British Department of Trade. Minet Holdings, the parent of PCW, also has conducted its own inquiry. In addition, a number of PCW names have sued to limit liability for claims against the syndicate.

Saudi billionaire falling on hard times

When billionaire Adnan Khashoggi was persuaded to open a computer bank in Geneva for his worldwide contracts 10 years ago, he asked his aides suspiciously, "where's the brain to this?" And he made it clear the risks of centralized information outweighed the benefits.

Now, according to Khashoggi's local associate Timothy Khan, the "Chief" is about to build a "nerve centre" in Toronto, instantly connecting business ventures, accounts, personnel lists, real estate data and operating expenses from some 38 countries. It will be a megasystem that will be one of the largest of its kind for an international corporation.

Notoriously guarded about his holdings, Khashoggi has registered them in Liechtenstein, moved them to the Cayman Islands and kept track of them in Switzerland. Giving "spies" access to his dealings is one of his greatest fears. What changed his mind?

"He needs a new philosophy," says Khan. "It isn't good enough in the 1980s to have costs piling up from all over the world without any way of keeping a check on them. The company has to get leaner and meaner."

Unlimited wealth doesn't go as far as it used to. Still, a lot of Dom Perignon has flowed under the bridge since the Khashoggi glory days of the 1970s, when the Saudi entrepreneur's empire was valued at $2 to $4 billion - more than twice the assets of the late mega-mogul Howard Hughes.

Stories same worldwide

Now, thanks to falling oil revenues and failing deals, the 51-year-old Khashoggi seems to be having great difficulty maintaining his assets while enjoying a $100 million-a-year lifestyle littered with wine, women and singing stars.

"All over the world the stories are the same," says British writer Andrew Duncan. "The way Khashoggi does business these days is with a great deal of talk and little action. "

Duncan, author of The Money Rush, a book about Khashoggi and other super-dealers, recently investigated reports from British businessmen that outstanding debts were piling up against Khashoggi and his companies. A London gambling house, Aspinall Curzon, had taken out a writ accusing him of writing 1 million pounds worth of bouncing cheques, and the chairman of Trafalgar House claimed Khashoggi had reneged on charter fees for the yacht Berengaria.

"In the U.K. people have been very careless about dealing with Khashoggi," Duncan said in a phone interview. "Kashoggi and Triad (his multinational company) are big money names, and a lot of people don't think twice about getting involved with them. But things are beginning to happen that make them suspicious."

During several months of investigation, Duncan found that:

* Triad America, headquarters of Khashoggi's U.S. operation, lost at least $4 million in 1985 and is in legal difficulties. The Salt Lake City-based company has laid off more than a quarter of its staff.

* The First Interstate Bank of Utah is about to foreclose on a Salt Lake City mortgage taken out to secure $14 million in loans that are in default.

* First National Bank of Boston took Khashoggi to court to recover $700,000 of an outstanding $1 million loan.

* GATX, a San Francisco air charter company, has impounded a Boeing 727 executive jet to recover $200,000 in back fees it claims are owed by Khashoggi.

* A $50,000 cheque promised to the dance company Ballet West has never arrived.

"It's a cash-flow problem," says Timothy Khan, who has been associated with Khashoggi since he lured the international tycoon to Ontario for a visit in 1984. "His cash flow has been in the billions. When you start moving that kind of money around, investing here, divesting there, sooner or later people want the money right now. We decided it was time to stop and get a better grip on the accounting. You can't just send people money because they say you owe them."

According to Gerry Doyle, a Bay Street investment counsellor and friend of the Khashoggi family, the reason Khashoggi changed his mind about centralization - and decided on a Toronto headquarters - was a super sales pitch from Khan.

"It was obvious that a newer and younger approach was needed for this billion- dollar empire," he said. "Timothy was the right man."

In Toronto, where Khashoggi is also setting up a $10 million to $30 million investment fund, Khan is relentlessly optimistic. But in Salt Lake City, where Triad's executive vice-president Emanuel Floor is trying to cope with creditors, the outlook appears less sunny.

A little illness

"The Khashoggis have made some funds available to us," he told Andrew Duncan in an interview. "But they can't meet all our needs as quickly as some of our needs exist. Companies are like people. Sometimes they get a little illness. Ours is not fatal . . . We'll straighten out, get our payments made and move on."

Part of Khashoggi's recent problem is the result of falling oil prices, which have adversely affected some of his Arab business associates. But, Khan admits, he has also made some rash deals: "He goes for the very highest risk, with the very highest return. It's always been his style."

Risk and extravagance have been Khashoggi trademarks. Lately they have signalled failure, as his backers in the Saudi royal family have distanced themselves from him and his People Magazine lifestyle. But just as often these flamboyant traits have heralded success.

"Khashoggi once told me an anecdote that says it all," Duncan points out. "In the days before he was rich, he borrowed $5 from a friend for a pack of cigarettes. He went to the clerk at the hotel where he was staying, bought the cigarettes and told him to keep the change.

"The friend was shocked, of course. But Khashoggi said 'don't worry, I'm going to need credit soon. Now I know that when I need it, I'll get it.' "

As a young man, the plump, energetic Adnan had an eye to the main chance. Growing up in a well-to-do Saudi family with a father who was physician and confidante to King Abdul-Aziz, he plunged into business dealings as a teenager.

Studying engineering at Chico State University in California, he ignored his $200-a-month budget and moved into a hotel room, where he entertained admiring friends. Later he quit Chico and took business administration at Stanford University.

Meanwhile, he was already on the road to millionairehood, acting as an agent for Saudis who wanted to buy American machinery. When Abdul-Aziz died, Khashoggi persuaded his successor, King Saud, to order $3 million in trucks to send military equipment to Egypt during the Gaza Strip war with Israel. He never went back to college.

In 1962, Saud's son, Prince Faisal, handed him a cheque for 1 million pounds to buy arms for Yemeni royalist forces fighting against Egyptian-trained revolutionaries. This mission established young Khashoggi as a trusted insider, and one of the best-paid arms dealers in history.

"Khashoggi is at once the ultimate capitalist and the ultimate bohemian," says Washington Post writer Ronald Kessler, author of the recently-published book The Richest Man In The World: The story Of Adnan Khashoggi.

"(He is) the ultimate fixer and the ultimate consumer; a citizen of the world and a diplomat without portfolio; a man who knows the Koran by heart and a gambler who loses millions at the roulette tables; a uniquely complex man and a disarmingly simple person; a playboy and a man obsessed; an underdog and a modern Midas."

As oil revenues increased, so did Khashoggi's wealth. His commissions - as high as 15 per cent - were on arms sales of $1 billion and more. He struck complex and secret deals with huge American manufacturers including Raytheon, Lockheed and Northrop. In the 1970s he was the central figure in investigations of alleged bribery of foreign officials by U.S. companies making sales overseas.

Arms contracts were the staple of Khashoggi's financial diet, but he decided to broaden his scope to Third World development and American real estate. When Lockheed severed its relationship with Khashoggi in 1980, the company admitted it had paid him more than $100 million in commissions.

Over the next decade, the exuberant Khashoggi's conspicuous consumption and audacious deals dazzled envious businessmen. Even an investigation by the U.S. Senate foreign relations committee didn't dull the lustre of his growing billions.

The Khashoggi empire reached out in all directions, through 38 countries: A $1 billion real estate development in Salt Lake City, another in Houston, a $100 million joint venture with the Turkish government, a contract for a $1 billion tourist-industrial project in China, and a 12-year involvement in development of Sudan.

The laundry list of his homes, planes and yachts is boggling. The 282-foot Nabila, the world's most opulent floating palace, has its own discothque, swimming pool, sauna, helipad and medical clinic. His stretch DC-8 is furnished with silk and leather couches, as well as a barber and masseur. "The atmosphere," says Kessler, "is the nearest thing to the Islamic conception of paradise."

Sensational divorce

A sensational divorce in 1979 brought Khashoggi back to earth, if only temporarily. The pneumatically attractive Soroya Khashoggi (formerly London waitress Sandra Daly) resented Adnan's brusque Moslem method of ending the marriage, when he declared it over according to Islamic law. Although he had provided money for her, she asked for $2.5 billion in a spectacular multinational court case, losing it after weeks of juicy well-publicized revelations.

Remarried to a young Italian woman, Khashoggi partied on, seemingly unconcerned about scandal or steadily falling oil prices. His spending has been estimated at $300,000 a day. Last year, he decided to redesign the port of Antibes to accommodate the Nabila.

From all indications, lawsuits and rumors about the state of his finances do not concern Khashoggi. High-flying deals go on, and the Khashoggi name attracts more. And the $10 million to $30 million investment fund that is expected to open in Toronto within the next year is low-altitude for a man whose arms commissions have been 10 times that figure.

Khashoggi's son Mohamed, who will oversee the proposed communication centre, may add a Toronto condominum to the family's 12 homes. The message is business as usual.

"Why should we be concerned?" says associate Timothy Khan. "The signs of real trouble are when a company has to sell off its boats and planes. Our yachts are in the water - and our DC-8 is still flying."

CCF is owed $32.5m by Mr Khashoggi on a credit which expired in April. The French bank carefully looked at ways of recovering its money. On June 5th CCF entered a series of mortgages at the Marbella property register on the property interests of the Kashoggi companies Investimar, El Coscojal and Marvilla.

Sources state that the Saudi Arabian magnate has major liquidity problems of between $70m to $100m. This due to financial problems of his traditional clients in the arms trade. Last September the magazine Fortune said that the holding company Triad America based in Salt Lake City was having problems.

Het leek mij doordat de opdracht van Armfelt kwam op een Amerikaanse operatie maar op mijn vragen hierover kreeg ik te horen dat er geen Amerikanen bij betrokken mochten worden.

Hij dacht meer aan Nederlanders, Belgen en Fransen. Gedacht werd ook aan huurlingen met een militaire achterrond. Weer kwamen dezelfde vragen naar voren: welke wapens? Hoe komen we daaraan? Hoe wordt alles gefinancierd? Maar meer nog, wie zou ik als back-up hebben in Suriname?

Vanaf dat moment gingen de trainingen echt van start. Dit ging in samenwerking met de Westland New Post, een Belgische stay-behind organisatie opgericht in opdracht van Armfelt, waar een groot gedeelte van de opleidingen en werving plaatsvond. Door Armfelt werd ik in contact gebracht met een vriend en zakenpartner van hem, en wapenhandelaar die ik eerder ontmoet had op Cyprus, Faez Al Ajjaz. Ook stelde hij mij voor aan Madani Bouhouche. Hij was lid van groep G (Groupe ‘d action Politique) binnen de Rijkswacht van België. Later bleek dat Al Ajjaz voor de financiering zou zorgen en Bouhouche een liquidatie team zou leiden om Bouterse, Alibux en Naarendorp te vermoorden.

Al Ajjaz bracht mij in contact met een goede vriend van hem, de huurlingenleider Bob Denard, die mij in twee weekenden een spoedcursus gaf in het plegen van een staatsgreep.

Trainingswapens kregen wij via mijn directe meerdere kolonel Kurt Görlitz. Hij regelde ook faciliteiten zoals het gebruik van militaire schietbanen en gezamenlijke militaire trainingen met de Natres en O & I, de Nederlandse Gladio. Binnen deze groep werden ook deelnemers voor de coup geworven.

Bouhouche zorgde voor de speciale aanvalswapens middels diefstallen uit Nato-depots en door een inbraak op 1 januari 1982 bij de elite eenheid DYANA van de Rijkswacht waarbij onder andere tien moderne Heckler en Koch automatische pistoolmitrailleurs met geluidsdempers en patroonmagazijnen met munitie werden gestolen. Deze waren bestemd voor speciale doelwitten bij de aanval in Suriname.  (...)

(...) Le problème qui se pose est d’imposer à certains pays un minimum. Je pense en particulier à la Turquie, compte tenu de l’ambiguïté de ses relations avec l’OEI. Côté syrien, la France n’a pas besoin d’un revirement et d’annoncer qu’elle soutient Bachar Al-Assad pour frapper l’OEI.

Plus largement, la France n’est pas crédible dans ses relations avec l’Arabie saoudite . Nous savons très bien que ce pays du Golfe a versé le poison dans le verre par la diffusion du wahhabisme. Proclamer qu’on lutte contre l’islam radical tout en serrant la main au roi d’Arabie saoudite revient à dire que nous luttons contre le nazisme tout en invitant Hitler à notre table.

A la mi-octobre, le Council on Foreign Relations, un influent think-tank à New York, a publié un rapport intitulé « Le financement du terrorisme ». Ce texte met gravement en cause Riyad. « Il est temps, affirment les rédacteurs, de dire clairement ce que les officiels américains ont refusé jusqu’ici de dire : depuis des années, des personnes et des organisations charitables installées en Arabie saoudite ont été une source importante de financement pour Al-Qaida, et depuis des années les officiels saoudiens ont ignoré le problème. » Ce rapport confirme la détérioration des relations entre Washington et Riyad depuis le 11 septembre 2001. Mais il omet d’aborder une dimension majeure du problème, l’aide apportée durant de longues années par les Etats-Unis aux « combattants de la liberté » afghans, à leur lutte contre l’Union soviétique et la compromission de la CIA et de plusieurs dirigeants américains dans le financement d’activités clandestines douteuses.

La liste d’individus et d’organisations poursuivis semble provenir principalement du recensement des commanditaires supposés du terrorisme établi pour les services de renseignement français par un avocat parisien, Me Jean-Charles Brisard (2), et divulgué dans de nombreux pays occidentaux avant et après le 11 septembre 2001. Selon ce rapport, Al-Qaida a bénéficié du soutien financier direct ou indirect de quatre cents individus et de cinq cents sociétés et organisations à travers le monde. Parmi les ajouts notables à cette liste figurent le prince Sultan, ministre de la défense saoudien, et le prince Turki Al-Fayçal, ancien responsable des services de renseignement saoudiens. Entre 1979 et 1989, tous deux ont tenu un rôle décisif dans l’aide importante consacrée au djihad antisoviétique en Afghanistan, en collaboration avec la CIA et le Pakistan. Au cours des années 1990, les anciens du djihad, ainsi que ceux qu’ils avaient eux-mêmes formés se sont répandus à travers le monde islamique et l’Occident, jouant un rôle important dans le terrorisme.

Prins Albert komt als prinselijk handelsreiziger in de jaren zeventig en tachtig met veel mensen in contact. Zo heeft hij zeker een ontmoeting met Faez Al Ajjaz. Er is zelfs een materieel bewijs. ‘Toen we bij Faez Al Ajjaz een huiszoeking deden en een foto vonden van hem met prins Albert, broederlijk naast elkaar in de sofa, wisten wij dat het onderzoek voor ons was afgelopen’, vertelt een ex-BOB’er in het kader van een onderzoek. Niet dat de ex-BOB'er Albert in verband wil brengen met duistere zaken. Maar een zekerheid had hij wel. Hij en zijn collega waren door hun onderzoek naar de onderwereld wellicht een gevaar geworden voor de bovenwereld. Wie is Faez Al Ajjaz? Volgens onderzoeksjournalist Georges Timmerman een Saoedische geheimagent. Auteur Guy Bouten vult aan: ‘Faez werd in 1922 geboren in Damascus. Zijn bijnaam luidde “Sirocco”, naar de hete, droge woestijnwind die de nomaden schele hoofdpijn en slapeloosheid bezorgt. Hij was overal aanwezig waar er geld te verdienen viel en kluste voor het Saoedische vorstenhuis, de Syrische president Assad, de CIA en de Mossad. In het IPC beschikte hij over een bureau waar hij volgens enkele van mijn (Guy Bouten, td) collega's grote sier hield. Zijn cover daar was het correspondentschap van een Arabische krant van het Franse persagentschap AFP. Faez was een echte duizendpoot. Hij startte zijn spionnencarrière in Beiroet als advocaat en correspondent voor diverse bladen waaronder Nouvel Europe Magazine waardoor hij Emile Lecerf en baron de Bonvoisin leerde kennen. Hij trouwde met iemand van de beroemde familie Krupp en bezat een villa in Marbella, de mondaine badplaats waar tal van Arabische prinsen verpozing zochten. Later kocht Faez het wapenblad AMI van Boas en VDB. Hij doopte het om tot Fire met Christian Tavernier als hoofdredacteur. In juli 1981 maakte Faez via Emile Lecerf kennis met Paul Latinus.’ Een andere bron: ‘Faez Al Ajjaz is een Syriër die in 1970 als journalist in Brussel kwam wonen, maar al snel moet de journalistiek wijken voor minder frisse bezigheden. Volgens een rapport onderhoudt hij contacten met extreem-rechtse middens en is hij betrokken bij trafieken, onder meer met diamanten uit het toenmalige Zaïre. Zijn wagen werd gebruikt bij de aanslag op rijkswachtmajoor Vernaillen in Hekelgem. Al Ajjaz is een kennis van Van Baelen en Bouhouche. Daarnaast wordt zijn ook dikwijls genoemd in het onderzoek naar Westland New Post.’ Wat de exacte relatie was tussen Albert en Faez Al Ajjaz, is nooit helemaal uitgeklaard. De meest plausibele theorie is dat Al Ajjaz de prins gebruikte om zich in te dekken en dat hij hierin meesterlijk geslaagd is. Is er een verband tussen de Bende van Nijvel en de zogeheten Roze Balletten? Een ex BOB-er: ‘Het web rond personen zoals Madani Bouhouche of Faez Al Ajjaz is zo groot en er zitten zo'n belangrijke personen tussen, dat het ononderzoekbaar is.’ Auteur Guy Bouten in De bende van Nijvel: ‘Jean-Pierre van Rossem heeft mij ooit zakelijke transacties en boekhoudkundige transfers laten zien tussen prins Albert en de Nederlandse prins Bernard. Het waren beleggingen met winsten uit de drugshandel. Adjudant Goffinon toonde me eens een foto van prins Albert met Hage Maroun, een van de belangrijkste voormannen van de christelijke Falangisten uit Libanon in Brussel en een notoir wapen- en drugshandelaar. Ik geloof zelfs dat hij aan de heroïne zat.’ Vreemd genoeg zal prins Laurent later eveneens contact hebben met die Falangisten.

Faez al Ajjaz était donc en contact avec Willy van Baelen qui a créé Nutribel International Industries (NII - 22 juillet 1976) : trafic d'armes et ventes d'avions ... notamment bombes, obus et canons pour le Pakistan (via le Portugal).

Cela m'incite à penser que Faez al Ajjaz a aussi été actif pour la "bombe islamique" développée par Abdul Qadeer Khan au Pakistan après sa formation en Belgique et aux Pays-Bas.

Il semble bien que Abdul Qadeer Khan connaissait Norbert Van De Voorde, responsable des déchets radioactifs chez Belgonucléaire puis au SCK-CEN et impliqué dans le "scandale Transnuklear" ... Norbert Van De Voorde a d'abord été condamné à 5 ans de prison mais s'en est sorti via une acrobatie juridique. Abdul Qadeer Khan a ensuite assisté l'Iran et d'autre pays.

Selon certains, la CIA était au courant des intentions de Abdul Qadeer Khan et a au minimum laissé faire car il pourrait bien y avoir eu un volet "nucléaire" au scandale Iran-Contra.

Norbert Van De Voorde avait aussi créé la société SOVEC avec Jacques Fourez, une des victimes des tueurs du Brabant : la DIA a joué un rôle important dans ces tueries ... et Faez al Ajjaz aussi (il finançait le WNP de l'ingénieur nucléaire Paul Latinus, par ailleurs recruté par la DIA). Jacques Fourez en savait-il trop sur la "bombe islamique" ?

C'est aussi à cette époque que le très douteux Félix Przedborski (un proche du prince Alexandre) représentait le Costa Rica à l'AIEA à Vienne... "Monsieur Félix" était en contact avec Léon-François Deferm (aussi douteux que lui) qui achètera plus tard la villa de Kashoggi (voir le "Safari club" avec le prince Turki et le comte Alexandre de Marenches) à Marbella.

Il ne faut pas oublier non plus "Eurosystem Hospitalier" ... qui impliquait aussi Etienne Van De Voorde (frère de Norbert).
